Newcomer / Intro How does on-foot ammo refill work?

If you're in a Dominator suit, with two primary weapons, and you refill from an ammunition crate, does it:

Fill up all your weapons' ammunition reserves, including the ones you have stowed?
Fill up reserves but not the current clip (which might be nearly empty)?
Fill your currently deployed weapon only?
Or something else?

Quite often during combat I've hit the replenish button for a crate but found that my current clip (magazine) is nearly empty, if I hit "reload" first, though, I can then fill up completely (but not sure if stowed weapons are also all 100% full, including their current clip).

Refill fills up your reserves, but it does it for all ammo types. Your magazine in any weapon is untouched. As a habit I always reload before putting a weapon away if possible, except for my L6 which has stowed reload.
