How does your exploration ship look like after 2.1?

I just made my first landing after 2.1 kicked in and still far far away, approx 30Kly away from the bubble.
Now, you would think that after traveling over 100Kly in Distant Worlds, your ship would look quite rude with wear and tear on the paint and the surfaces of the ship.

Well, heres my Python after 2.1..

See the difference?

Simply disappointed.. :(

Quite dissapointing indeed. Probably people complained that they paid money for their skins and don't want them to wear off...
I for myself unfortunately never had any paint chip off my White Apollo Asp same with the black friday jobs. Makes me consider not having/buying paintjobs on any future ships.

I really like the paintjob wear and tear feature, brings a lot of realism and its implemented very nicely. I had a thought that i wouldnt fix my Pythons paintjob when i reach the bubble, so it would remind my always of the DWE.
But, this is just something which i cant understand.. How can one patch clean my ship?? What else has been cleaned, my exploration data??

EDIT: Oh, it was already at the known issues list:

• Paint wear and tear deterioration may not work for some ships

Well - it's working for my gold 'conda.

It looks like someone has taken a brillo pad to it while on speed. Half the paint has worn away and there's pitting and dirt at all the joints.

To be honest, it never worked with the Asps White Apollo(not sure about any other Asp skins). I hoped thy would have finally fixed it but instead they broke it for some more ships.

Well at least it seems to work for the condas so I guess I'll aim for that ship now :) ...only I need about double the money I have now(all assets included).

Degrated paint has never worked for a few ships, most notably the Asps, but other ships have always had degraded paint work like it should, like the Anaconda and T-6. I think the Python used to also work just fine, so this may be something new. It is certainly a step in the wrong direction if they broke another ship's paint wear instead of fixing the old ones that never worked. I would love to see my Asp all scratched and torn, but alas, not yet...:(

I hear you Henkka77. I had the factory paint on my Python, worn down to 0%. It was beautifully burnt, pitted and marred. Now after the update, it's clean and shiny, with none of the wear, even though the paint is still technically at 0%.

I'm sad about losing that look - I planned on never repairing/repainting because it had sentimental value, but....well it doesn't matter now.

another effed up job. I cant even get my settings back to normal before I lock up.
all was fine 2 days ago
frustrated

My Asp Explorer looks like i just bought it... And i have travelled approximately 52k LY with it.
I would really like to see the paint fading away and cracking from the heat.
However, i noticed the following thing - the paint is different in Witch Space.
Here are two pics for comparision. The first is in Witch Space, the second just out of it.

Maybe it's just coded there to be like this, i don't know, but i am checking the sides of my ship more often now when i am jumping.

Nope, a few of us have submitted this as an official bug report some time ago. What is actually happening is that every time some ships (the Asp for example) exit hyperspace they get a "new" paint job applied to their ship. What you see in witch space there is actually how your ship should be looking, but it paints a new skin over it every time you exit witchspace. If you watch closely you can actually see the "apply new paint job" graphic roll across your hull from front to back, just like it does in spacedock when you apply a new paint job. Some people can even hear the jingle that plays in spacedock when you apply a new paint!

The bug has something to do with the station interface, in that we repair our paint but it never actually does repair, BUT the game gets stuck in a loop of continuously applying a brand new paint job in every system jump. Seems like it should be an easy bug to fix but it's been broken for a very long time now, and now it seems like they somehow broke the Python's too....

I haven't been around in the past few months so i am lagging behind such bug news.
Well, i hope they fix this at some point. I would really like to have a look at my battered ship at the end of a long journey. :)

If frontier manages to fix that before the end of the year, then I'll buy 2 entire painjob packs. They can quote me on that and now they even have more of an incentive.

EDIT: I they fix it 'till the end of june I'll buy 3 instead of 2 packs.
