How effective are normal weapons against thargoids?

I believe that normal weapons only work against the Thargoid scouts and as far as I was able to tell their damage was about equivalent to that for human ships.

Not sure about current AX weapons but the Gaurdian stuff, whoah, really good.

0% against thargoids isn't *entirely* true.... but mostly.
Scouts, yeah, human weapons work.
Interceptors, you won't do any noticable hull damage, their regeneration will outstrip it.
*However*. Human weapons will work against Thargoid shields.

The lance (the one with the rail gun) is fun to use against scouts. For the interceptor, I have a lot less frustration using the imperial rogue. The fighter's job being to dodge thargon swarm.
Having said that, I'm sure someone will come on to say they've solo'd a hydra in a lance.
