How effective in combat are Anaconda in RES sites?

As the title says, I am slowly transitioning from trade anaconda to a battle version.
Before I make the full transition, just wanted to know how effective they are in battle.
I am talking lasers, cannons, A7 shielding at the like....

Not tried 1.3 but in 1.2 you were limited by your profit by your speed getting from one encounter to another.
I think time to kill enemies = yes, time to reach enemies = no.

Optimal ship is probably FDL/Python area.

Try combat zones, the added defence of the Anaconda is useful there where you are attacked by multiple enemies at once.

It depends on the RES (but I haven't tried in 1.3). I have had times when I saw nothing bigger than a Cobra (so a bit boring), and other times when the smallest wanted ships were Federal Dropships (so it can get a bit hairy; thank goodness I have that Huge Plasma Accelerator!). I have 7 gimballed beam lasers as well, so (barring that Plasma Accelerator) ammunition is not an issue, but heat management is. The rest of her is A Maxed.

When engaging enemies I have found that my Python with similar weapons loadout is just as effective or some times even better than the Anaconda because of the hardpoint positions and being a fair deal more manuverable. The Anaconda's survivability is loads better though, with potentially twice as many shield boosters and more room for shield cell banks.
However should you be shot down, your insurance deductible for a battle-Conda is nearly twice as much as for a battle-Python.

Anaconda in my opinion is not good for RES at all, way to slow, for RES sites I'm much happier with Clipper and gimbaled lasers and multi cannons or Vulture with fixed ones. Anaconda is OK if you need to kill a lot of NPCs in conflict zone, but it is quite boring, I stopped using mine for fighting :). Pyton is also too slow for RES sites.

But it is your ship and money, try it, your experience may by quite different.

Save some credits, get a FDL, you'll thanks me later ( just dont let u shields drop or u'll have troubles ). Have fun.

Is there any information on missile dmg on hulls?
I know they changed it awhile ago, but was wondering if it was any good still.
I know anaconda's have the longest rng sensors, couple that with missiles, means picking
off long distance foes.

I wouldn't say stupid things, but last time i tested missiles on my conda, missiles range were around 3 km ( my sensors are 7 km ) so it's not based on ship sensors.
Missiles are good against hull but the explosion often cause nearby allies to be damaged. and then comes the bounty ( that u cannot instant pay naymore ).

I wouldn't use them for farming, just for defence purposes if you are under interdiction by pirates.

And forget about homing missiles if you face master medium/large ship ( because he'll use defence turrets ).
