How far do you build?

Maybe a question to you...
I don't know if you all have the same main problem as I have always... But I just noticed and became more and more aware of, that I so much often build lean and don't dare to stretch the buildings with details, due to a constant fear of ending up with very low FPS at the end, once the whole park reaches a reasonable size... This thought is constantly in my mind, whenever I startup PC.

Actually I could build all buildings and rides with much more details, and I would really also like to do so, but I do constantly avoid it, as I'm fearing that at the end I can't play my park anymore, because all parks playing below approx 15 FPS feels really annoying to me, as I think its just no fun and pain for the eyes. Therefore I constantly aim for high quality and beauty but with as less pieces as possible, which often results in only average looking objects... Sometimes thats frustrating, when you know, you could do more, but cant because you always need to think of the end product...

So what's the conclusion? Maybe on my next park, I build only a section, no whole park anymore? What do you do?

I rarely build more than 10-20% of the available land.

Nowadays I do what James does, however in the past I did full maps and suffered with depressing fps.

Roll on DX12, Windows 10 all is forgiven, just need PC the sequel to be DX12 future proof :)

It's also about the problem, that I even dont try to build with maximum details, as I know, that if I put that detailed stuff in a park I end up with fps issues... Therefore I limit myself on creativity from scratch... So I see as only conclusion, technical optimization or we focus on building only small parts in maps... e.g. park sections or single rides only...

DX11 it is restricted whereas DX12 will have more draw call Nvidia is ready and waiting allowing more multi tasking per say, we need software companies to follow suit now. This is why I have a feeling that from alpha, beta then there will be a new planet coaster version capable of integrating dx12!
