How find outpost on planet surface?

Hello, I just bought elite dangerous deluxe. I wanted to do some missions on planet(those seem to pay wel for noob). But when trying to land on surface missed I the outpost and I landed a significant distance away. Any way to view how I musty drive to that outpost while in my rover? Like the targets you have in space? Plating route didn't work.

You can't interact with the base in your SRV (the rover), so you'll need to get back into your ship and fly to the base if you want to pick up missions.

If you still want to drive there in the SRV, look at your contacts list in the left panel. If the base appears there you can select it and it will give you a marker to drive towards. If it doesn't appear in the list, you're too far away for driving to be practical.

Route plotting is just for flying between systems. If you're in the map and want to travel to something within your current system, you need to select it by clicking the button to the left of plot route.

Also, welcome to Elite :)

You can drive to the base but as Gunnet says it's easier to take off again and land on the pad. Left hand screen either Navigation or Contacts will show the base and the direction.

Unless you're more than a few hundred Km away, it's probably easier to fly to the base in normal space, it may take a while, but flying relatively short distances in supercruise with any accuracy is impractical.
For future landings, aim a few degrees above the target and you should drop out of the glide phase right above the base - works for me every time :)

Thanks all, I now landed in bordage works on a planet, sadly doesn't it offer any missions. I actually left glide 60km too early but i just slowboated to the base.

Remember not all bases on a planet are "officially" landable. Only the large bases, they have a little SKyScraper looking symbol, allow you to Request Docking and will have features like Missions. You can land NEXT to the medium and small bases but other than shooting and scanning them you can't interact with them.

Note the lower symbol (Roskam) is a Landable Base while as the other (Metcalfe) is not.

Thanks that explains why it didn't work on another base
