Or they will be built directly into the space ?
Too bad. That was epic. They wont because the game doesnt have them and if it were they would like current planets in the game orbit them like all the other ships in the game do.

This wont be a thing.
Having only the base-game does not prevent the interaction with the planets without atmosphere.Given that FDev have said they're available to people who have the base-game, they won't interact with any planets in any way.

Ships are available to those who don't own Horizons - all it takes is the addition of a module to allow them to make planetary landings....Given that FDev have said they're available to people who have the base-game, they won't interact with any planets in any way.
Yes that seems to be the destiny for these mastodons. If, by "interaction", you mean dropping out of SC when you bounce off the atmosphere.
Personally, I have a sneaky feeling we won't have much control over where our Carriers travel within a system and FDev'll just set it up so they can only go places where they don't get in the way, cause problems or interact with anything.

No - however I'm pointing out that base game content was "tweaked" with the introduction of Horizons to facilitate planetary landings - for those who purchased Horizons only. So, you're saying you think, if you've got Horizons, it'll be possible to fit a "Planetary Approach Suite" to a Carrier and then take it down to a planet's surface?
Dream on.![]()
It would be great !So, you're saying you think, if you've got Horizons, it'll be possible to fit a "Planetary Approach Suite" to a Carrier and then take it down to a planet's surface?

That the contention that because something is available in the base game it cannot interact with planets is inaccurate. So, ummm, what are you suggesting?![]()

Like all of the ships released before Horizons? My contention was that because Carriers are available in the base game they will not (not cannot) interact with planets.
…
One could speculate the possibility to take a carrier down to the surface. Me, I’m not so sure, but it would look awesome if we could...
