how i stopped complaining and learned to love the freindly fire?

when i played star wars galaxies i remember the day i quit. i was a dark jedi and i would go farm force crystals by tanking several knight sisters at one time and then getting my drops. while doing so one night i would get them down to 50% health and then a rifleman would come in, 2 shot them with a mind shot, and get all my kills. i could do absolutely nothing to stop it. not only that but he then followed me to tatooine and started killing the sand people i was tanking. i feel the same is possible in this game in a few ways as exploitation. i was killing mobs in a high resource extraction site and a guy would get a few hits on my targets and then get the entire kill.....i killed the idiot only to find i now cant farm in this spot for 3 days.plus if he decides to just run into my firing line he can also make me get wanted and same effect.... this cant be right. seems exploitable to me....

i remember when i quit elder scrolls online it was cause of a pvp stun mechanic where if you got stunned your toon has to take a few seconds to do a return to standings emote thing and by that time you were dead. that was just bad i dunno, programming? the other day my docking computer ran me into a wall and i couldnt regain control of my vulture til it blew me up.....

the day i quit eve.... i swear i truly hate that game. i got online to find my corporation in null sec had kicked me for no reason and all of my assets were inside. so i lost about 5 billion worth of creds and to add to that i hadnt played in a bit so my clone wasnt updated and station guns killed me which caused me to lose like 4 months of training? thats four months of real life time.....
in this game , to compare, i cant put weapons and transport them anywhere. i cant see what weapons are where before hand. i cant trade or give or get credits in anyway with anyone. it makes me question why is this an mmo in the first place when you are extremely limited by mechanics on inter player transactions.

so far i do really like the game, dont get me wrong. but i spent 30 mins with 2 freinds trying to simply get the communication in game working. another 45 mins looking for a place to farm. 10 mins farming until some at came and started to take my kills and then 5 mins running from federation when i killed him and then i logged and wrote this post. this is 2 hours ill never get back and to be honest when i log in tomorrow im sure itll be the same struggle......

You killed someone for taking your kills and then wonder why you get a bounty? You should have just offered to wing up and split the bounties or just reloaded until you got a different instance.

So wait. The thread title says you came to love friendly fire. Doesn't sound like you did that anywhere in your little story. Where exactly did you learn to love friendly fire?

PS, one tactic for dealing with guys like that, esp. when you have a wing, is to take turns ramming them until they have to go repair. They'll gripe about it, but it's not against TOS.

If you are alone you can also get in their line of fire. Once they hit you they become wanted, making the kill all legal and garnering the help of NPC.

I think you are in the wrong game mode. PvP -> Open, PvE -> Solo.

Nevertheless, avoid friendly fire. Fire only when you have a clear line of sight and are sure you hit the correct target. Rules of engagement.

Sounds like the OP is rubbish at whatever game (s)he plays. Maybe (s)he should give up on online gaming and find a hobby that brings them enjoyment.

I find a friendly message along the lines of:

"Stop stealing my kills or I will steal your life"

usually works wonders. RES instances are often big enough for more than one. Also a gentle ram does not get you bounty but against smaller ships is enough to knock their shields a few rings and let them know you are not messing.
Personally as someone without a home base I don't mind being wanted for 3 days, I have to remember that the offending player has an insurance screen and looses the bounties they stole from me so it's like a double slap really. Don't loose heart.

Also on the friendly fire I've been hunting for a long time now without any issues, I do use a laser only setup though so no frag/multi-cannon accidents.

If you don't like the killstealers, just get between them and your target, trick them into shooting you, then execute them for the bounty. Easy! And once you start doing that, they'll get the hint that you don't want them around...

But ramming does get you a bounty as well? Plus it is despised by the PvP community.

Only around stations and when speeding. In open space no bounties afaik.

Yes it is but there is a difference between a tap to show you mean business and using to to fully destroy someone (I agree thats bad and should be despised). As a relatively stand-up guy I'd always use weapons to kill someone but a gentle-shoulder barge and message to back off mostly works.
