How is MY sell price for suits and weapons calculated ?

I am wondering how the price is calculated if I sell suits and weapons back to the NPC.

For example I bought a G3 suit for approx. 11 Millions and noticed if I would sell it back the NPC would just give me something like 300-400K , same thing with weapons.
(Never used the suit or weapon)

Feature or bug ?

Edit: The sell price is 60% of whatever the base price of the item was. Example 1: G1 Suits 0.6 * 150000 cr = 90000 cr Example 2: G1 Carbines 0.6 * 75000 cr = 45000 cr, etc. Hope this helps anybody else wondering the same thing as us! o7 CMDR

Is there any basis to choose only the resale price with 60%?

Not sure about the figures given as;

I can sell a G3 Intimidator for 300k that costs 2.5 million to buy.
