How is the alpha running?

Would anyone with the alpha running in high settings be willing to benchmark their PC?

I've benchmarked with Heaven (3DMark is bloatware to be honest and takes too long).

Heaven score: 946
GPU: XFX HD 6870 900MHz 1GB GDDR5
CPU: i5-3570K
MB: Asus P8Z77-V
RAM: G-Skill 16GB DDR3 @ 2133MHz
What presets you used in Heaven? That score is useless without knowing which test you did actually run.

Unigine has released another benchmark, the Valley, which was used in the Extreme HD setting (1920x1080) for e-peen waggling elsewhere. :) Anyway, being more recent (DX11), Valley might be more relevant concerning E: D than Heaven.

And for 3DMark being bloatware - :p
It might be a more thorough system test than Heaven. Of course everyone has their own preferences, no probs there :).

I'm in the process of installing the alpha on all sorts of low-end kit.

AMD E350 8Gb - unplayable
Haswell crapbook air 4Gb - plays great!
Atom singlecore 1.5Gb - won't even start
Atom dualcore 4gb - won't even start

None of these machines are anywhere near minimum spec, I just want to see what happens :)

The alpha is running very well for me, very stable and polished, and I get around 48fps on final scenario.
Intel core I7 920@2.7ghz
6gb ram
Nvidia 560gtx-ti-hawk 1gb

Shok.

I have a similar spec pc to yours. What are your ingame gfx settings? Medium or high? Have you had to tweak any of the parameters to get that kind of framerate of yours. edit: what resolution was you playing at?

Obviously, assumed people would know to use the defaults if nothing was specified ;)

The minimum spec for the Alpha is "DX 10 hardware GPU with 1GB video ram" so surely it wouldn't be relevant to those without DX11 cards?

Good resource, didn't know it existed. I'm not sure 3DMark is anymore thorough, just more popular maybe ;)

Yeah, me too (assuming default), but then I remembered the "Benchmarking" thread in the PBF here & the plethora of different settings people used.

IIRC the Basic setting (default) in Heaven 4.0 is DX9 & 1280x720 windowed. As E: D needs DX10 hardware coupled with DX11 ...
Bear in mind that the card needs to have hardware DX10 support as well as being DX11 compatible.

... I thought that Valley being more recent would fit better.

BUT, wider spread of different benchmarks sure gives better indication of overall performance level of one's PC. And when thinking about a certain game, nothing beats the game itself :). Plus, experiencing the graphics & game smoothness is also very subjective thing.

All in all, FD has been very cautious about system requirements so far (oh yeah, a bit early to say things like that really - only one Alpha build released :) so far). Well that's true at least concerning the first Alpha part (SP combat module).

It will be interesting to see how things develop once we see more of the game. Will the specs mr. Brookes announced as "reasonable minimum for Alpha to get a decent experience" become absolute minimum or recommended (average) or something else. And what did he mean by "decent experience" ? FPS above 30 all the time in 1920x1080 with all settings medium? Oh, so many things to consider!
