PvP How is this possible?

I'm doing a CG in BHAGUI , delivering beer in an ASP Explorer as outfitted my top speeds are 284/387

Every time I jump in (and this is happening to lots of folks according to chat)

A guy in a Krait MK2 interdicts me, and there is ZERO chance of getting out of it, I dont know what FSD interdictor he is using but even keeping right on the escape target gets you nowhere.

Once interdicted I try to distance myself from him and jump out, except even with full pips on engine and boosting as often as possible he can LITERALLY fly circles around me.

At one point I charged him head on, passed, I got 3.2K out from him and figured I was home free. Despite me going as fast as possible he turned around and withing 5 seconds had closed the distance to 500m again.

I dont know what setup he is using other than he has no shields and can launch A TON of missles at once. one salvo killed my shield and lowered me 54% hull. he also has hatch breakers like any good pirate.

what is the best defense in this situation? Hes literally unavoidable, the second you jump in hes after you before you can even align with your destination and you cant beat the interdiction.

Somebody on chat in a Anaconda said they tried to get him because he has HUGE bounty but he just submitted to the interdiction, then left the conda like it was standing still and jumped back to SC.

Ive been playing this game a LONG time but this is the first time Ive literally got nothing in terms of ideas except to just abandon the goal. This guy has every base covered.

Well I mean should a combat Krait be able to deny system entry to a hauling Asp?

Probably yes.

Sorry no ideas beyond just high wake out and keep turning to face for the flyby while you charge.

Drop into solo or private group before jumping to the system where you know he will be.

Or

Put him on your block list and you will be unlikely to get placed in the same instance as him.

Of course other methods are to armour up so you can survive long enough to escape. (Sometimes dropping off less cargo is better than none at all). Also, I'll bet he's firing dumb fires at you, these are defeatable by simply not travelling in a straight line...

Or simply menu logging on him if you see him in your instance (preferably before he interdicts you).

The ASPX isn't exactly the fastest ship in the fleet and can only haul a little bit more freight than a type 6 which has a much lower rebuy. Personally, I'd use that over the ASPX any day for hauling into dangerous areas such as CG's, it's much cheaper to lose.

Definatly not dumb fire missiles.

He hasnt been there the past 2 runs, was gonna try and chat with him, Im just amazed. Im more curious about the speed, the ASPX isnt the fastest ship for sure.. but it should be at least as fast as a Krait from what I can find, however this Krate was hitting speeds in excess of 800 best I can tell, givin his ability to run me down from 3.2k to 500 m in a matter of seconds while im still doing 320-380 running away, and literally fly past me, turn around and face me while Im going as fast as I can. The Conda that tried to get him reported the same, that he just submitted to the interdiction and then was able to just run away like the conda was sitting still and then go back to SC. Apparently nobody could catch him, based on the radio chatter he had been there a long while and nobody could get near him.

Combat Krait easily does 530+ so neither your Asp nor a Conda has a chance of escaping by pure speed alone. Your ship doesn't sound to be engineered?!

First, great Name.

Speed of the Krait engineered is 530+ on all three of my builds. If the Commander was flying FA off that speed would be sustained and I can boost three times with my set up before capacitor is drained. Have you chaffed boosted and high waked? that's all I can contribute. Good luck.

What thrusters do you have fitted to only get 387m/s boost out them? put some 5A's there give the dirty drive 3 and drag and get 512m/s out of them. Easily enough to to give you a chance of escaping....

I’m curious...did this pirate try to communicate with you, or did you just run away and he kept blowing you to pieces?

Most pirates will at least do bit of role play.
Normally they’ll ask you to come to a complete stop first.
If you run, they shoot.
Then they’ll ask for a modest amount of cargo.
If you drop it, they generally let you go, if not, they’ll shoot

Most pirates, will then not bother you again that day.

Most "pirates" are simple lulzbunnies.
If they ask you to stop - use this time to outwit them.
That only takes a second or so.
If you run, make sure you can run. If you cannot run nor fight, use those precious seconds.
If they ask for cargo, tell them to mash their banger. Do NOT waste time on this - C&P or macro or VA or skip completely.
If you drop cargo - they will kill you anyway - so use those precious seconds instead.

Most lulzbunnies will not again bother with a target that escapes them.

But if they do - make absolutely sure they know they are in the lulzbucket :D

That's not true. There are real pirates out there - which leave you alive if you comply. The difficulty is to discern them from the "lulzbunnies"

He may have fired packhounds at you. I'm not surprised a Krait can fly circles around an Asp. One option is to wing up with some friends that can deal with him (FDL+Krait+Cheiftain). Adding him to your block list would be the most immediate solution unless your goal is to learn his tactics and gear. He may not want to talk about it. Good luck.

If (and that is a big if) the opposing CMDR really was doing 800+ with a Krait, this smells like the same case as with the Anaconda cheater some months ago.
But if the speed difference was "only" the usual difference between G5dirtied Krait and unengineered Asp, it's very legit.

800 m/s in a krait you say?
Actually closer to 900m/s. For anyone to close a distance of 2700m in 5 seconds, the speed difference needs to be 540m/s between the two. That would leave the Krait at 927m/s (540 + 387), which just isn't possible.

If the numbers are correct, it's a scripter/hacker for sure. With packhounds hitting the target, it is however more likely that a) they have drag experimental, which slows down the Asp in FA ON quite a lot (= zero pips to eng), and b) it took longer than 5 seconds to close the gap / the gap was smaller than 2.7km.

Not going to question how fast he closed on you, or how fast he may have been going, but will re-emphasize what others have already said...

Looks like you're flying an unengineered AspX vs an engineered Krait - you're not giving yourself much chance to escape or withstand much of an attack. For comparison, I also have an AspX that I have used for rare CGs - at 396/539 m/s, with G5 lightweight reactive armour, G5 Prismatic, G5 shield boosters, and a 3D guardian shield booster I have a much better chance of hi-waking before being blowed up - but there's still no guarantee.

If you want to run CGs in open... get engineering, watch some escape videos, and if you feel cheeky arm yourself with some rapid fire ion disruptor & shift lock canister mine launchers.

not only packhounds, but packhounds with drag on them almost guaranteed. slows you down to 0 pips to engine top speed. also, with flight assist on you are at your top boost speed for like a fraction of a second none-sustained. your engines are constantly fighting against you and applying reverse thrust.

more than likely he was fa/off coasting at a sustained speed of greater than 500 m/s while you are fluctuating between 150-250 with some moments of higher than 300.
