How long do damaged escape pods last before being 'out of date goods'?

As per title, & lol at FD for 'out of date goods', shouldn't it turn into meat? (as per Elite 2 & 3?), or pet feed! ;)

Anyway, I've twice now had damaged escape pods last for ages, & then when a new Thagoid CG starts they are suddenly out of date! Coincidence?
Btw, did try googling my question & got no hits.

Not sure though dude. I was not even aware goods could go out of date lol!

Neither did I until over 1/2 a dozen damaged pods went out of date in 1 go! (on the day of the Thargoid CG rescueing pods ironically):( (even though I picked them up days apart!).

I've never tested the concept. It always seemed prudent to hand them in immediately, in case the people inside can be rescued !

Wait...what...Escape pods have a consume by date?

No wonder the Thargoids are so keen to collect them, they're probably taking them to the local Thargoid soup kitchen for homeless Thargoids.

Ok it's happened another 2 times since, each time when a new event occurred, 1st 1 was when the 1st 3 stations got attacked by Thargoids. Now I did have those damaged escape pods a while, BUT I picked 1 up after that event & before the 2nd 3 stations were attacked, & that was a space of only a few days or so, & the pod went out of data today! I have had damaged pods on my ship for about a week before.

So it seems the answer as to how long they last, is whenever the next CG/major event occurs!

What about occupied escape pods? I have a few with me out here in the black, but I have no intention of returning to civilisation for at least a few more months. :p
