How long does it take following the weekly tick?

For the changes or updates to a system to take effect.

I had built a planetary port in my system, but the port did not have a shipyard. According to the recent patch notes I needed to place either a orbital bar installation or a tourist installion that would provide strong economic ties to the planetary port.

So I completed the orbital space bar. But nothing happened. I now have on my system map and nav map a orbital construction site with an coreolis icon and another link to what is called a civilian installation. Neither of which I can land on?

Anyone else experiencing issues?
 
I've heard as long as 24 to 48hrs for updates to proliferate all of the servers. I don't have any colonies so I don't know of any issues. I hope all of your facilities come online soon for ya.

  • Shipyard (Note: always requires a minimum system tech level of 35)
    • Tier 2 or 3 port
      • Note: Tech level 35 is immediately granted when a Tier 2 or 3 port is built.
    • Tier 1 Planet Port plus one of the following:
      • Strong link to a High Tech Hub
      • Military Installation or Industrial Hub built in system
You don't need a bar, you either need a High Tech Hub on the same planet or a military installation/industrial hub somewhere else in the system. And also a minimum tech level of 35 (although this requirement doesn't always seem necessary...)
 
If your port is still under construction it may take another cycle for it to come alive. FDEV has been restarting the servers before all new systems have been updated in an effort to get the game back online without excessive delay.
 
No the planetary port was completed before I built the Space Bar . The space bar was completed just before the patch notes were released and prior to the last tick.
 
You cannot dock on the space bar ever it's not a port and despite the game having a bar it doesn't have a bar. It's impact is on the other stuff once it comes online.

They also changed the requirements silently please go see the revised post in the update notes. Not cool but they did it.

That was never the case for the shipyard requirements. One thing was changed for Vista Genomics (scientific outpost was removed because it can't fit it) and the requirements for Pioneer Supplies were completely removed.

The update notes on the official ED website are a mess because someone messed up copy/pasting them, and despite it being pointed out almost immediately they still haven't been fixed nearly two weeks later.

Shipyard requirement was changed or the patch notes on the forum were corrected.
Initially we were told
  • Shipyard (Note: always requires a minimum system tech level of 35)
    • Tier 2 or 3 port
      • Note: Tech level 35 is immediately granted when a Tier 2 or 3 port is built.
      • Tier 1 Planet Port plus one of the following:
        • Strong link to a Comms Installation or Relay Station
        • Tourist Installation or Bar Installation or Outpost Hub in the same system

Over half the categories were tweaked or significantly altered without a obvious warning. OP built what the initial patch notes said and cannot be blamed for building the wrong thing when they were told that's what they needed to do.

You can(could it does get updated as he's made aware of edits) find the original list in Mechans colonisation doc which is outdated because he has horrible luck and once he publishes they change stuff.

That simply isn't true. You can see the original forum post in its entirety because rootsrat (and others) quoted it. Mechan most likely took his info from the web site, which was messed up from the beginning and still is today.

It was edited you can see that if you just look at the post. We were given incorrect information and it was at the start even if you didn't see it.
Which was the day after several other people had quoted it. Seriously, go and look; four posts after the opening post, someone quoted the entire thing. You can clearly see the changes were only minor. Paul even acknowledged the changes here.
 
Well from all the replies to this thread, I can tell I'm not the only one affected by this issue. Just going to take a wait and see approach to the issue. I'm sure FDEV will come up with a fix shortly.
