How long will it take to get from one side of the galaxy to the other

given the that the size of the galaxy is ~100,000 ly from one side to the other and given the average jump range is ~ 9.7 it would take 10,204 jumps give or take a few. to jump takes 5 seconds to spool up/cool down is 40 seconds and to refuel (if you have a fuel scoop) is ~1 minute so lets say every jump takes around 2 1/2 minutes that would take you 25,510 minutes, 425 hours or 17 days of constant jumping/refueling. This is just a rough estimate and does not take into account sectors with large gaps between stars and this is as the crow flies.

After the release im going to get a good exploration cobra and go for the core of the galaxy. 20ly jump range, about 2500 ly. I thought about it as 2015 challange :). I wonder how close to the core i can get?

Race ya.. :D

We figured it to be about 6 weeks of non-stop flying

What were your figures?

In No Man's Sky we have information who discovered the planet first. It will be good to see that feature in ED
