It's just plain embarrassing the lack of exploration/discovery tools in game.
This manual feed of information from Fdev is just a ploy to get people back ingame when the numbers are flagging.

The alien encounter being a typical example. A huge amount of activity then back to the reality that it was just a scripted RNG activated cut scene.

This latest ruins flim flam is just insane without proper tools.

Of course if the planet is half the size of earth then it would only take 146 years! - no toilet breaks though!

This is purely my pedantic side speaking now.

Radius of Earth is 3959 miles.

Formula to calculate surface area (assuming no variation in surface) is :

Area = 4 π r^2

So Earth is: Area = 1.97×10^8

Half the size of Earth would have radius of 1980 miles.

Area of that body would be: 4.93×10^7

4.93x10^7
---------- = 0.2502 or 25.02%
1.97X10^8

Halving the size reduces the area to 25% so it would *only* take 73 years.
