How many CMDRs sign up to CGs but don't take part?

How do you use the sign up anywhere for CGs?

I only sign up to a CG if I'm actively on my way, or there with a load of goods.
.
I'd prefer the 'only sign up at the station' option to encourage the above, but keep the universal notification so everyone knows what CG's are active.
.
I'd also like an additional bottom 'token effort' tier so the people that drop off a token <10 tonnes (resource dependent) get a token 1000cr pay-out.

To be honest, not been a player long but the CG in Arque was the first and I signed up at the main station in that system, fully intending to take part. As I've mentioned on other threads, hit the top 50% & really enjoyed taking part.

I will definitely join more in the future, as long as they're not hours away and would definitely not sign up if I had no intention of taking part.

I sign up only if I intend to take part in CG.
I agree with OP - in pre-2.1 times, it was much harder to keep yourself in Top-10%. For me, the standard "safe spot" was 7200 tons, or 10 Cutters. And even that not always guaranteed you Top-10%, you had to monitor it.

Well anyway, I'm in that camp.

I suppose, for the sake of this poll, I would say either of the sign up and not take part at all option would suffice. Making a minimal donation would have the same effect as not contributing anything. Sort of.

I've seen it before, where 4 CMDRs have been the only ones that have signed up and since it was a rares CG, they had all made the same contribution. Each CMDR was spread out across 4 different reward brackets. Point being, if you turned up and delivered 1 ton, chances are that you could push another 1 tonner up into the next bracket.

You can press report on your OP and ask a mod to add that option. If not I'll just vote the sign up and not take part.

Hey fennster - hope I don't skew the numbers but recorded the fact I often sign up just for tracking purposes! :)

That said, most trade/mining/haulage goals in/near the bubble I contribute at least one load too, not usually the BH or Combat ones though, and I have managed to resist the urge to go to Jaques so far ...(I feel a BuckyBall run out there might be in my weekend plans since I have a lot of time for gaming Friday through Monday ... Be nice to be able to add another badge to my collection though not sure how I feel about impending space madness ... Also depends if the looming war in Teaka shows up or not :/)

I've signed up for one CG only in all this time I've been playing ED, and that was some mining CG at Jacques (I think it's still going on - I've left for the bubble after I did my part). I don't like the concept, much less the gameplay mechanics built on it.

Overall, I am pretending that CGs don't exist :)

Lately I have signed up for most CGs I see, to push other commanders up in brackets. My goal is to encourage CG participation.

I do participate in some CGs like Jaques or BH CGs. It's a good way to meet other commanders and wing up for fun.

I only sign for ones I am going to take part in, If there is one I fancy having a go at I will sign up remotely and head straight there.
I think signing in should flag you as interested which only gets upgraded to participating when you hand in something.
