How many have you recruited to ED?

Just curious how many of us are actively recruiting folk into the game, how many you've signed up into getting a product (beta, alpha, main release) and lastly how your getting folk into it.

For myself I've managed to get 3 people so far into buying the various beta products as well as a lot more waiting on main release. One of those is a real life mate and 2 more from other gaming forums.

The main thing that seems to be selling it to folk is clearly positive word of mouth and me telling them all how great the game is so far and what they can expect as well as showing some of the excellent videos out there made by the fans here.

Its actually quite telling though that its been a hard sell so far with so little FD marketing to back up the things I have been telling folk. Many sites are fully aware of the game but not seeing much of it in mainstream, hopefully that'll improve as marketing picks up.

My lad's in now, and has got two mates interested and an additional mate's dad (who's practically did a happy dance when he found out E: D was being made!) all going to buy on release.

I'd say between 30-50 people in work mainly(in a company of 1000+ of which at least half are gaming nerds -a conservative guess) , i..some Beta's but most waiting for the games full release from what ive read in the gaming newsgroup...there's a lot of pc gamers in here also, most of whom played Elite back in the day.

I deserve a cup or T-shirt or summit!

One backer so far (head of our I.T dept) and working on the rest, 2 kids. (mine ) and anyone daft enough to let me work sny conversation around to ED.

I.E.

Friend: I've just lost my job, Been dumped by my girlfriend, house burned down, cat died. etc.etc.etc....

Me: That's terrible......Have you seen the capital ship video?

I think I had a slight advantage going to the Inside game showcase to help promote Elite to the masses so 50+ from me.
I also converted a few peasants to PC format in the process.

I'm going to a LAN party with some BF4 Clan buddies, and I am hoping to show off E : D, working with TrackIR and an X52. They have already expressed some interest, but if I let them have a go of it, I am certain they will be hooked in no problem

I think it is mostly that my fumbling around has frustrated them so much they have joined to show me how it should be done.
