How many other humans have you met in game?

I see loads of players. I'm mainly around Eravate at the moment, although I've just sold my sidewinder and slight upgrades and moved into my free eagle for a bit. I'll often pop into mining areas to see if any miners need help with pirate spawns, have a chat and tip my wings etc.

Looking forward to being able to group up with people.

I also started in Chemaku. The number of people I see seems to be dropping, people are spreading out from their starting areas and more and more seem to be switching to solo play.

I've seen a lot around LHS 3447 and Eravate but since that's the starting area, it's to be expected.

I was so overjoyed to see one last night that I pulled him out of supercruise to say hi, then went about my business. :p

But if you have over 100,000 populated systems, and you estimate that a million copies of the game are out there... that's 10 people per system if you imagine an equal distribution. Not everyone is playing 24 hours a day, so imagine one third of those accounts are dormant and the rest are playing for 1 hour a day on average.

The chance of seeing another player when you go about your daily business is actually quite small, but the chance is vastly increased if you set about your business in a conflict zone or highly trafficked area.

I think the take-away thing here is that it can be a very solitary game, but only if you want it to be!

I try to say howdy when I spot another player just to give it that multi player feel.

It feels a bit bit like cb radio, for those old enough to remember what that was! Maybe the system-wide comms that players are asking for could be a channel you can tune into?
