How many people are working on the PC version of ED?

Seems all hands are on deck for getting the CQC for xbox and PC by the end of the year. Here's a pic of the team working on implementing the DDF:

Well half are working on fixef for Xbox. Half are working on fixes and new gameplay for ED and 1 guy/girl is working on the expansion. Oh boy its gonna be a looong way
 
Heh.. well as long as by christmas

1) Exploration gets an overhaul
2) Trading inteface gets an overhaul
3) API so people can actually make useful websites instead of needing OCR etc

I'll be happy.
 
OP - there is no way a sane developer would ever answer this question.

Whatever they answered they would be detractors who would be happy to use the number given against them.

We know of some developers who do speak on the forums, but those are probably the few who have permission to make public comments - the senior devs as it were who are trusted with saying things without censor (although the community manager might be required to veto their posts in advance even then).

This is an absoloutely sane and intellegent policy for any business.

I work for a really oustanding software company, and even we get occsional reminders to watch what we say about out company on social media and forums and remember things like NDAs (and you can be sure that all FD employees have NDAs).
 
Do monkeys count as fractional people ?

1 monkey being say ... 1/12 a person, how many monkeys are working on ED?

Well, all these large numbers, that's marketing, HR, finance, IT, testers, 2d artists, 3d artists, UI, audio, etc. Actual developers working on new game mechanics design&code? Besides AI? One intern who did Powerplay over an afternoon and now is fixing it from home for free. Judging from the game design and quality.
 
Most of stuff in the game is cross platform so it can't be measured like that. Models, textures, sounds, Lua scripts, animations and the majority of the engine code doesn't change between platforms. The people working on CQC stuff are doing it for all platforms because it's the same code in the end.
