how many ships there was suposed to be at launch ?

Getting the free ship now is just pointless. For most people that have been playing the game since then, buying anything up to a mid-level ship is just dipping into the credits pot. Even some friends of mine that play a couple of hours a week have over 100mill credit worth of ship. What would we be given? A 500,000 credit viper equivalent? A 5 million Vulture equivalent?

What does it matter unless it is exclusive to us since it is really just some free credits?

I suppose what I'm saying is that it has taken so long to fulfil this promise that for the people it was made to it is more or less a worthless promise even if they fulfil it.

It depends (maybe). As Freagle owner, should I ever wish to hit the reset button - I can start again in my Sidey or Freagle. Will the new free ship also work like this? i.e., a new free starter ship? By that point though, I'll probably not be thinking about a hard-reset!
