Just tested this by placing a trade center in my Africa section (the other one is back at the entrance). Adopted an Aardvark for Africa and the staff went to the new trade center for it.
So yes, if you place multiple trade centers in your zoo, then staff appear to go to the one closest to the destination to get the animal. They do not however expand your storage beyond the 30.
