How many Trade runs does it take to buy an anaconda???????

I have the answer for you. From starting at 0 cr and in a sidewinder AND you find a 2000k trade route. (they are out there)
We upgrade to the ship that has the best MAX cargo available.

Ship Cost of Ship Max Cargo Profit per trade run # of Trade runs Require
Sidewinder $ -10 $20,000.00 -
Eagle $44,800.0014 $28,000.00 2
Hauler $52,720.0022 $44,000.00 1
Adder $87,808.0026 $52,000.00 1
Viper $142,931.0022 $44,000.00
Cobra $379,718.0060 $ 120,000.00 6
Lakon Ty 6 $1,045,945.00112 $224,000.00 6
Asp $6,000,000.00128 $256,000.00 22
Lokon Type 7 $17,500,000.00232 $464,000.00 45
Python $57,000,000.00292 $584,000.00 85
Type 9 $76,500,000.00532 $1,064,000.00 33
Anaconda $146,900,000.00468 $936,000.00 66

So in total you would have to run 267 Trade run to purchase the Anaconda. (note each trade run is a $2000 profit run, that is a there and back profit average, say 1600 to station a and 400 to station b)

Lets say each trade run takes 10 mins... I have found them you can too. that is 2670 mins which is 44.5 hours. In 45 hours you can have an Anaconda from just trading alone.

Notes: We skip the viper because the cargo space is reduced and thus hinders the faster trade ship upgrade route. Also, every ship is sold for purchase price. (I know you lose 10% and also I took in no account for updating FSD equipment nor did I allot for cargo purchasing credits. I just wanted to get a rough estimate of the time involved in speed trading to an anaconda.)

Also of course you will need to upgrade the sidewinder to 10 cargo space by doing trades at 4 cargo space until you can purchase cargo upgrades.

Yes, you will need extra credits to purchase cargo each time you upgrade. I don't have time right now to include such calculations but maybe in the future I will.

I personally skipped the Adder and just staying in the Hauler until the cobra. I am in my Type 6 currently and will be going to the asp next. (Also I kept my Cobra so I don't have to trade all the time. A little bounty hunting helps to mix it up. I will sell the cobra once I get the ASP)

For now 267 runs for 44.5 hours to get an Anaconda. Happy trading.

That's the ideal case, which will never happen in the game.
1. Max cargo capacity is used for the calculations. While this might be true for smaller ship, starting with Python you are definitely going to use shields, this means the reduction of cargo space, e.g. 284t for a Python with size 3 shields, 500t for a T9 with size 5 shields and I doubt that you are going to fly Anaconda without shields as well.
2. Have you taken into account the 10% depreciation costs when you sell ships? While this value is insignificant for cheap ships, for it is about 6M Cr for the Python, and 7.5M Cr for T9.
3. Fuel costs are not taken into account as well.
4. Due to small cargo capacity difference between Sidewinder and Eagle there's little sense in this upgrade. T6 to Asp upgrade is also questionable, especially taking into account the price of Asp, loss of Cr due to ship depreciation, higher insurance costs. So it might be a good idea to go from T6 straight to T7.
5. You won't be able to trade effectively using the ships in basic configuration and you will definitely need the A-max FSD at least, not to mention buying cargo holds for max capacity. This adds 1.6M Cr for Cobra then you can use it for T6. You would use A5 for T7, i.e. +3.5M Cr, then you transfer it to the Python, T9 requires A6 FSD, so that's +11MCr. That's not taking into account cargo rack prices.
6. Not to mention that in your ideal case you probably do not take into consideration the possibility of interdictions.
7. It looks like you did not take into account commodity prices as well.

Chart looks off. You need 3 runs in a Sidewinder to get enough for an Eagle using your numbers.

And why does Anaconda even have values for cargo capacity and earnings per run? You're not going to be running trade runs in an Anaconda before you even get one.

As above... on paper (forum) it may sound right, but in reality (hmm virtual reality) it really isn't as straightforward as that.
A lot of things are not being considered.

Too simplistic and you dont need to buy so many ships. I had my own rather complicated Excel calculation table to consider which ship to buy and skip but since I reached all my goals I deleted it lol.

IMO even if you want to just trade, you need to get a good feel for the combat (to better avoid / counter them). With that in mind I think bounty hunting (Sidewinder > Eagle/Adder > Viper) until you can afford a Cobra is not a tall order (or just do Sidewinder > Hauler > Adder > Cobra luxury trade if you REALLY just want to trade). Afterwards do Luxury Routes until you can afford a Type-6. Then do normal trade and upgrade Asp > Clipper > Python > Anaconda (Type-7 & Type-9 is not worth the mental pain due to their crippling slowness, ESPECIALLY Type-9).

Why bother with the ASP and Python? The cargo increase isn't that much to bother investing all the cash into it. Just go from T6 to T7 to T9.

While I was in my T7 grinding for the T9 I ran the calculations between moving up to a Python verses continuing on in my T7 and found that with the Python's 60 extra cargo got me into a T9 in many fewer trips than pushing on in the T7. That also included the extra 5M you need to make for the hit when selling back the Python. The advantages to moving into the Python as soon as possible was clear, and then I got one and realized that not only would I get to a T9 in less round trips, but those trips suddenly got a whole lot quicker (shaved off over 3 min on the same 2 jump run) due to the increased handling of the Python over the T7. That was pre Python handling nerf and I have not driven one since, but regardless it would still absolutely be worth it in my opinion to move to a minimally shielded Python as soon as you can afford the hull and a class A FSD.
