How motion sick are you!? Horizion Beta

I really struggled in thr SRV with the early builds, but was only getting about 37fps. I've upgraded my GPU now (770 to 980ti, roughly double) and things are much smoother, but I think I'll always be prone to nausea while driving around. The skid turns and bouncing are not great. I think part of it is thw very wide field of view in the scarab - in a ship your brain can think that it is everything outside the window that is moving and you are still, but this doesn't happen for me in the buggy.

I was fine but I had to lower the graphics settings a bit. I hope the final release will be more optimized. Felt only uncomfortable when jumping down a cliff and rolling around. But I guess this wouldn't feel comfortable in reallife either.

I was suffering in Beta 1. Since then I have updated my card to a GTX 970 and the various tweeks FDEV have made are now making things a bit better. I certainly feel queezy sometimes but I think that would be something I would feel if I were doing it in real life. I don't have long term sickness that you get from other games like HL2 where I would need to go lie down for 4 hours!!

If I go back to my ship I'll feel better straight away. I guess I may also be getting used to it the more I drive.

I think some people will puke immediately when they play my game in the SRV or close to the surface! I pray for more frames!!!

But it looks like I am immune to it, or I am just a tough guy! ;-)

I've had mixed experiences with the SRV, sometimes it doesn't it bother me, and on another day, I'm barely holding on, starting to get the motion sickness sweats. Flying the ships I've never had an issue. They need to adjust the way the camera moves/bobbles. In VR, you don't move the players head/camera, it just induces motion sickness. It also doesn't help that framerate is probably also lower on the surface. I love the game, and the SRV. But that SRV camera/VR head needs some serious work.

I was fine until I got stuck in a canyon. Spent 30 minutes trying to drive out, often flipping over end over end in the process. Finally gave up and shut off my oxygen when I couldn't take the motion sickness anymore.

New feature in new beta!

"- In VR remove inertial camera simulation entirely"

Going to have to see if this solves the sickness issue.

Just tested it... I would say "something" seems to have changed as the nausea did not hit immediately like it used to but it definitely started to set in once I started driving (again, not as bad as it used to it seems, took longer to get uncomfortable). The view camera still bounces around like a "bobblehead doll". They should really add a feature to turn that "effect" off.

The center screen is still too much in your way when in your ship in dock and constantly pops up when just looking around in outfitting etc.

Also they still have not "moved everything back a little" when in the SRV, it still feels like everything is right against your head which is not comfortable in VR.

Frame rate/judder still present just sitting on the ground even with settings at "High" instead of Ultra.

*sigh* The nausea might not be so bad without everything so darn close but I still suspect the bouncing camera is killing us.
