How much are heavy haulers earning these days?

Question for the big rig drivers - Been months since I've played ED, On average I was making 6/7 mill an hour hauling 532T in my T9 back in 1.2

Will be back in the game in 3 weeks, plan is to trade in a Conda (full cargo config) I don't trade in slaves.. So how much should I expect per hour? Have read posts from some saying 12 million+ Has the game really become that easy or are people exaggerating?

Also thinking of converting the T9 into a heavy mining ship, any figures on average Credits per hour?

Cheers

I think 12 mil an hour was when Archon had quite a lovely slave trade going for him, for a weekend.

The he best I seem to find with large ships is around 3300/ton, so maybe 5 or 6 an hour depending how fast you are.

I've just literally started trading in a T9 with 500 tons cargo (I keep a shield). I did so for exactly one round trip before I had to log off because hauling that thing around made me want to /wrist myself...

BUT, even though I don't spend a long time looking for the best route and like to stay close to the Founder's World, so it' not optimal in the slightest (only trading in gold/advance catalysts), I made ~1.2million on that round trip. Which took me about 15 minutes? So ~4.8million for an hour.

I don't think it's changed much, other than perhaps if you were a slave runner, your old sweet spots might no longer be selling slaves due to PP mechanics.

With slavery, about 8.5 million per hour in a trade anaconda on a stable route, without probably similar to your original T9 profits.

My best (smuggling) route nets me nearly 14 mill. per hour in my Anaconda. It's aprox. 4750Cr per ton per one jump round trip of 8 minutes. I don't know if there is any better route around, but this is by far the best one i have seen so far.

If you dont trade Imperial Slaves then things are pretty much as they were back in the day if you are independent.

Smuggling Imperial Slaves in Archon territory is where the big fast cash is.

12 million an hour is not an exaggeration. Im making 2 million a round trip in my Conda on a 17Ly run that takes roughly 10 minutes all in.

I also don't trade in slaves. I went back to one of my home systems. Amazingly it isn't under control of any power. It's a Palladium -> Marine Equipment -> Tea route. I'm making 1600 per ton on Palladium, 1000 per ton on Marine Equipment, and ~250 per ton on tea (same system station hop). I think it takes about 15 minutes to do the loop so with my 452 trade conda that's ~5,152,800 per hour. All high supply and high demand.

Strangely enough one of the routes there is dead now because the stations in that system no longer have commodity markets. You probably know which system I'm talking about, I think it was you who showed me.

It will take you a long time to fill a T9 when mining. Mining missions usually last two days and you may need more than that if you only play two or three hours a day so collect the missions when you get back. To make mining work you really have to take missions. Osmium for example sells for maybe 8k but from a mission you can get 60k+ per tonne. And getting all the missions for the amount of osmium your going to get will also take an hour of your time.

Mining is fairly stress free, safe if you avoid HiRes sites and an easy way to make your millions. It's strangely compelling floating between the asteroids looking for that mother load of painite but it requires a lot of patience.

You get more fragments per rock in HiRes but I wouldn't take a T9 in one. Maybe kit out your Annie for mining and accept you'll only have about 250T cargo space. That will take you enough time to fill and you'll also get a bit of combat to break up the monotony.

This is making me want to look harder for a route... I sold my FdL for the T9, so I might as well make the most out of it while I'm haulin'... Might be time to head down to Imperial space... sigh.

4.4mil an hour

I have a trading Anaconda (400t) and can do a one jump trade route for around 1.1m per 12-15mins. The route (in fact there are a few) are around Jeterait. The typical set up is Imperial Slaves one way and Progenator cells / Performance enhancers or similar the other way. Thrudds Trading Tool is a good start but I searched for a while before I figured that Imperial space is by far the most lucrative. Good luck

Though you are talking about trading, currently the highest profit per hour is privateering for a bounty/bond power in Power Play. 15 mill per hour is what the general Python/Conda HICZ pilot is making an hour. Of course you need to get rank 5 for this so its not every ones cup of tea. But I just thought you should know that there are other ways to make good money now outside of trading. And yes it really is easy to make credits now that Power Play is out. Even doing mission bounty hunting is in the ball park of T9 trading.

Thanks for tips guy's, so it looks like slaves are the big money maker. As long as 6/7 mill is still achievable hauling regular goods I'll avoid imp slaves. Have to say 12 mill round trip does sound tempting.

@h347h - I'll look into that, cheers!

In a T7 I'm managing around 2-3 million per hour, without slaves, so I'm pretty sure if you scout around you'll find even better. :)

Last three weeks I was making a steady 7.5 to 8 mill an hour, in a 452t Conda.
This week I am out on the farm, so it might be a bit better.

Don't forget a shield for your T9 if you stick to trading. The AI had got a lot more aggressive since 1.3 and you will lose your ship and maybe 8m cred if you risk going shieldless. You may have to put up with 496T instead of 532T.
