So, I have Horizons, but, outside of a brief interlude during beta testing, I've never ventured on a planet using an srv.

How much do you folk use your SRVs? Do you just love planetary roving, or do you play Elite to fly ships, not drive cars?

When i've got horizons, i've landed on Ariel and done a 2hr cliffs riding.
Sometimes i just like to cross a crater or drive in a flat canyon's bottom.

Every time I land on a planet, I use my SRV. I like to explore. Additionally, I find myself going off grid on planets more and more. Aka, I land on a planet to log out. As a bounty hunter/ smuggler, I try to keep a low profile. Even though I'm friendly with both the Empire and Federation.

Now that im doing the barnacles event CG at Maia, im using the SRV quite a lot. But before that i rarely used it.

Off course i tried it when i bought Horizons 3 months ago. Thought it was fun at first, but it wore off pretty fast.
And that scanner that sounds like an old geiger counter is awful!

I love to buggy!

I use the SRV mainly to prepare for long exploration trips. I gather materials I need with it. Mainly in the bubble. I spend some time in the SRV is the answer closest to my situation I guess.

IMHO there is only one way to measure your use of the SRV : "SRV DISTANCE TRAVELLED" in "STATISTICS". And it's sadly not appearing in this poll.

When H first came out I gave it a try. Finding little rocks and making smaller rocks to scoop up wasn't much fun.
I did find a downed ship with an escape pod, had to shoot down two hovering things guarding it and that was cool.
When I got back to a station I found a missing pilot mission and turned it in for a nice payday.

I haven't owned a SRV bay since. I might buy another one day as the game develops.

Even if i am pretty old in real life i don't own a driver license. At first when i take a look at the SRV controls and i see way too many controls i just decided SRV it's not for mine. Maybe in the future with engineers update....... maybe i will give SRV a new chance but for now no.

There's no option for I own horizons but haven't used the buggy since the first few days. I'm not even sure any of my ships have one fitted anymore. I found it to be a bit of a pointless gimmick really.

I used to SRV a lot, but then it kinda got boring and silly, especially with navigation beacons spawning thousands of LY outside of the bubble. Every now and then I'll see a huge mountain and I'll go jump off of it, but that's kind of it.

Rarely. I like landing on planets but the go-cart thingy? Now I can drive around a big empty area as well as fly through one... Oh sorry I forgot I can also one-shot-fits-all fire at occasional stuff.

I voted missions out of the bubble and some of the time.

Back in the bubble, so some nights I enjoy taking multiple base missions - still not great at them, but I like the fact they are a bit deeper with a puzzle element compared to the space missions.

Very rarely.

Although I aknowledge that FD did a good work on the SRV and its driving model, using it feels rather pointless at the moment. Its good for a bit of fun every once and a while, but that's it.

Maybe this will change in the future.

SRV? No way i'm gonna sacrifice precious internal space for an overrated RC-Racer.
I'd rather install a useless shield cell bank when flying shieldless.

I can scoop stuff up from ground with my ship, i can shoot bases from above,
and that is all i need.
If there would be a rework of the integration of the SRV hangar i might reconsider it,
but internal space is precious to me.
