How much for an exploration 'conda?

I'm considering using the Zaonce discount to get an Anaconda and use it for exploration
a) How many CR for a 'conda with the best FSD , D grade modules and the smallest usable shield?
b) Is it any better for the job than an Asp?

A 'conda is stretching my funds tight, but I would pay out to have the best exploration ship.

That really depends on what you consider "good" for the job.
It is better because it can jump farther and can carry more stuff like heat sinks etc.

So if you want to go somewhere far away really fast, or if you want to get somewhere you cant in an Asp, then it is better.

For everything else, it is worse, because it is more expensive to run and repair.

DAMN.........91 million for a 7 A fuel scoop. I was thinking of using my Ani to explore a bit but I would have to sell a ship in my fleet to buy that greedy scoop. Is the 6 A fuel scoop still a viable option then 777Driver....??

Downgrade to a 7C - 5million, wait an entire 35 seconds to fill your tank... :)

My Explorer Conda is sat in dock, I would only use it for a trip out to the far reaches of the Galaxy. You don't need an A7 scoop when exploring, but it obviously helps. I'm using my T9 to get to the core, it can hold an A8 fuel scoop 289 million :/ and scoops at 1680. I stuck a D7 scoop, 1.5 million and scoops at 712, fills the 64T tank up quickly

What's the jump range on an exploring T9? I can't seem to get above about 20Ly on edshipyard.

Just under 20LY on mine. I was only going for a short trip to Coalsack, ended up pushing on towards to core. 20.2LY is the highest range on that ship.

LOL! This thread is insane. Love it. :) a 20LY T9 and a 40LY Anaconda. Half a billions Cr worth, and Asps would've been my first choice in both cases. But... people put airoplane engines into motorbikes, and motorbike engines into sofas, so off you go... All those empty slots. :)

Haha, you're imposible 777 - kudos for the trip in T9! However the view from cockpit is quite spectacular, I believe DK2 makes it times 1000! :)
But as for the maneuverability it probably takes some patience, isn't it? ;)

I got this build for my Conda. The shield is only because the other day I've been docking after a fairly long trip (naked, without shield gen.) and barely touched the letterbox and bang! - hull from 100% to 36% LOL. And it was just a soft touch!

Heart palpitations. Lesson learned. :)

And... another crazy one joins in. You do realise that your 8D sensors weigh more AND cost more than a fully kitted out exploration Adder which will do 30LY? Wow. But at least you can see out the windows. :)

Yeah, the Asp was my exploration vessel of choice, mostly because it's cheaper but also because it handles better in SC, and that DOES make a difference on long trips.

But i've been dabbling with an exploration version of my 'Conda, i've come up with this loadout.

Of course it's not cheap, at 216m credits, it's a lot easier to get an Asp. But the next time I'll go exploring, whatever else i may compromise on, I'll get a sexy cockpit!

So, no Asp, that's for sure. I'm pondering on the clipper, despite its less than adequate jump range, provided i can fit a couple of additional fuel tanks. Or perhaps the imperial courier, if it's any good for exploring.

We'll see....
