Newcomer / Intro How much for Asp(exploring) for descent range?

How much do you think I would need to purchase an Asp and kit it for exploring? I guess 2 prices would work, comfortable exploring and full on luxurious exploring price...

Insurance coverage I would have put aside ofc.

All, D class, A class FSD, Advanced D-scanner and DSS, good fuel scoop (D6 at least) - no weapons and other clutter - about 15 million.

Don't bother with maintenance units and other stuff

Class 3 shields are enough for exploring and you can go a class lower with Power plant and thrusters, too.
All of this saves money and weight. You can get up to 38Ly jump range.

There is no such thing as "comfortable exploring" >.<
You want to be light. That's about it.

k, I have a T6 and a Viper, I'll stick with the T6 for now and put a bar(comfort :p ) in her and enjoy the trip... :)

I would have about 10 mil or so if I sold all.

Thank you :)

Well, you can squeeze a pretty nice jump range out of T6, too. :)

And the view from the cabin is almost as good.

I guess the lightest setup of T6 with A class FSD and exploring equip would be about 5 mil? If I remember she has class 4 FSD, right?

Yes, I'm at 28 jump right now in T6. Just a couple of finishing touches :)

Just dunno how long the long journeys will take for celestial that are 100k+ out

Personally, I rarely bother traveling more than 30k Ls in the system.
What is really worth it (money- wise) are the stars, themselves, especially rarer classes and higher masses, then High metal content planets, gas giants with metallic rings and planets with liquid water. That's about it. You can decide from the system map (you will learn to tell the planet type from how it looks), whether the 20 minute trip is worth it. :)

I knew there were higher valued stars and planets but wasn't sure what to look for, This will help.

The absolute best place to work out ship loadouts is EDShipyard.com

Here's a start config for you :- http://www.edshipyard.com/#/L=30g,,2-3I6u7_6u2C8S8I,mpV4zM7Q42jw2UI

I've spec'd it for minimum weight / max range.
Cost 14.3MCr with 719KCr insurance.

If you keep the fuel tank on the low side, you'll get even more range.

That's exactly the setup I had in mind, thank you for illustrating it, Sllewji. :)
Except I'd probably go for Class 5 or 6 fuel scoop. Same weight, much more efficient (therefore safer)

Mine comes in at around 10 million credits I think. Not much A class stuff, as that's an extra 5 million per item (power supply, distributor, thrusters), but even so I have plenty of power, weapons can fire forever if necessary, and speed is Ok, and I get a jump of 20+Ly with I believe a B class FSD. Have a good fuel scoop, and advanced discovery scanner and detailed surface scanner. Just started exploring as of last night. Sorry the details are lacking, but game is not up right now.

For ultimate comfort an A6 fuel scoop.

Auto field maint units weigh nothing, so may as well - could be useful. But you can do without it if necessary.

Jury is out on whether heatsinks are worth taking along, I carry 3 at the moment and but only because I am long way out - I have used half of them - due to carelessness. They add weight, but could limit damage if you were unfortunate enough to get too close to something. Neutron stars have a habit of creeping up on you. :)
