How much has SRV mining changed?

I wanted to fill up my materials. Googled and a lot of advice was to visit this or that planet. Scan and the numbers of geologicals etc should show up.
Well, the advice does not pan out. Nearly all the planets I scanned per advice, only had distress signals.
Has Fdev removed gathering materials from shooting rocks?
I have no trouble with the well known fade out of materials. Nor the recent 2.4K altitude of my SRV.
I have searched many metal rich planets with no joy.
I have found no organics at all to mine from them. Fdev should have organics planets as well as the usual ones. No point in saying a planet has metals when nothing shows up with the scanner.
Also noticed the odd occasion when something is found by the scanner, it is not on the planet.
If the change was made to organics to the detriment of geo planets, why weren't we told about it, and that the organics are not as numerous as the geo planets.
I tried to find threads about this but all seemed to be about the mats that disappear or take off like they want to explore some other planet.
I would appreciate replies if this is upsetting other players as well as me.

Maybe remember to check the sell-buy date of the info that you googlify?

Geo POI do not exist any more and have not done so since forever (well OK, since Odyssey).

That is why some of us (most?) did our surface prospecting in Horizons but since Live and Legacy split, that does not work any more (what you collect in legacy does not appear in your live commander).

Yes. Tried that. I need high quality to trade down for re arming on the fly in Haz Res. Thanks for confirming what I thought of. Darrak is going to post a list of organic systems for me.

You can farm G4 raw materials at places like the crashed anacondas in Orrere or Koli Discii (not at the Bug Killer though as relogging there is broken in LIVE). That is what I did recently for a clear save account. I also paid a visit to a couple of spikey sites (crystalline shards) but I doubt I'd go back to those ever again (long haul).
