How much info transmitted to ED in Solo mode?

Reportedly (according to a Google search) ED "uses" 2 MB/hour in Solo mode.
I connect via a satellite and, due to latcency issues, play almost exclusively in Solo with occasional Group forays.

Been on a mining binge lately and notice (only sometimes) that I get a delay in launching Propector limpets. Got so bad yesterday I figured I "locked up" this feature and had to log off/on to get it to work.

Had a chance today to play on a, much faster, Wi-Fi connection and the game (seemed) to run much smoother and quicker. Responses to game commands seemed "faster" but I could be imagining this. As an aside I had one of my best mining days ever.

So this got me thinking: In Solo are things like me launching a limpet sent to FD?
I understand things like market prices, missions, my location, etc but is everything I do/am doing - right down to limpet deployment - tracked and sent to FD in Solo mode?

If anyone knows. I can't do anything about my connection but was just curious.

I tend to play in solo almost exclusively now simply because there is normally slightly better performance than in open, as well as smoother and faster loading times. Recently (past month or so) there have been more issues than usual with the network, and many players are reporting bad connection and lag, even in solo mode.

Apparently, FD are on the case and they are hopeful things will begin to improve in a few weeks. The usual spam in a can excuse but that's the best we can hope for right now and hold onto the hope that things do get better. Normally, solo play runs very smoothly indeed which is one the reasons I prefer it...open play just has too many drawbacks, both human and otherwise with instancing.

Hope ye get sorted cmdr...in the same boat here so at least ye know it's not just you ^^

Press Left-CTRL B to monitor bandwidth usage in game.
Solo is pretty low in bandwidth usage and is the only mode I can actually use on my lousy connection.
You can also try an app called Glasswire at https://www.glasswire.com/ to monitor usage.
[Edit, some stats] Yesterday I travelled about 1000 ly, scanned a few planets and the usage in the executable was 6MB downloaded and 5.1MB uploaded to Frontier's servers.

Depends as well on how often you do things like load up the Missions page - missions get downloaded to your game client every time that happens.

concerning prospector limpets - i could imagine a request for a material spawn table. but no idea, why that would happen every time on solo.

maybe file a bug report? and help people like you and me who have to connect regularly via low bandwith.

All very interesting.
Thank you gentlemen.
Apparently the connection is active with back and forth even in Solo. I will check further.
