Anyone give a recommendation on how much I should have in the bank before switching ships? I know they don't come with anything great to start out, so I was curious. I can afford to buy a viper at the moment if I sell my eagle and everything along with it, but I'm not sure I want to. I'm guessing it's going to be stupid expensive to outfit the new ship, and the trade off I get on mine probably won't cover it. Any other suggestions someone might have (including whether or not they think the viper is worth it) please let me know.
Also, can anyone tell me if having all beam weapons is a do-able endeavor, or if it's worth it? I'm worried about thermal and power issues, not to mention whether or not it would even be effective. I would like to not have to spend money on ammo though...
