How much time to re-enter a system after retreat?

Hi all!
As title. I'd like to know when a minor faction can reenter a System after retreated from it. After months? After.... 3/4 expansions? Never reenter?

Tks!

Retreating deprioritises expansions to that system. This appears to be permanent - or at least, very long-lived.

How long it takes you to get back into the system will depend on how many other expansion targets there are within range. You can go straight back on your next expansion if there are no other valid targets for your expansion ... conversely, in a densely-populated part of space you might never return.

You may be able to stack the odds a bit by carefully choosing which system you expand from.

Yes, works the same for player factions. Other than blocking insertion of additional player factions, there's no BGS difference between a player faction and a non-player faction.

So now deprioritizing works? I remember it was found not working at all...
It seems to work *provided that* the Retreat took place after the 2.4 release date. Earlier retreats are not accounted for, which may be why tests shortly after 2.4 found it not working.

Good to know.

You can re-enter when you have no available target in the 20 ly ish radius than the one you have already retreat from (perimeter that you expand without investment).
