Newcomer / Intro How NOT to leave a space station.

Not only watch your speed, but always give way to a Type 9!

Oh, worth keeping an eye on your scanner as well, on mine it shows other ships :p

Ooops :D

I've smashed a cobra into the inside front wall of a station in my time. Didn't even have the excuse of something coming through the letter box, just inept steering, she was brand new too :)

Did something similar but just about survived the first bounce,.... panicked,.... tried to boost out the letterbox so I could request docking before life support gave out and managed to plough into vessel no.2!
Needless to say that was bye bye time!
My poor shiny new Cobra. :(

Im lucky still in my noobie Sidewinder tho :) so not all that big of loss hehe..
But i feel for you guys whom lost better ships lol

This the way we learn :D
I crashed more often when docking, being to heavy on the boost ([TAB]) key.
Now I can dock from full boost speed to regular in-station speed only by deploying the landing gear.
Experience is made of mistakes. Just try not to make them twice :)

PS : btw, the green lights are not made for dogs, you never should leave a station in the middle of the toaster of even worse at the red side... anyway thanks for sharing this very experience of humility.. you will grow stronger because of being aware of it

I crashed my sidey into the top of the station due to a game bug that stuck the bottom thrusters on

Stationary objects are the most dangerous thing in the game. 1 asteroid and 3 station deaths. Invariably when I'm feeling awesome and invincible, takes you down a notch!

After 39 hours in the game, I suddenly became a bit too cocky...
The cockiness came even quicker for me. Being an original '84 Elite player I thought this docking and launching lark is so easy ... until I met a T9 entering the slot as I was slowly leaving. Grind ... crunch ... grind ... crunch ... as my ship was pushed back into the station, with non-functioning thrusters and bouncing uncontrollably into landing pads and then getting blown apart by the station.

Thanks for the vid, the laughs and the reminder of my early hours in E: D!

ahahaha... thats awesome :) Thanks for sharing, Wiblfibl :D

MMMMMM....That looks familiar!! As a newcomer, I think we all do something like this....hope I can keep me "" moments down ...

That was funny. Must admit never had T-9 enter like that on me, but if it did I would pull up and slow down, not try to squeeze through the crack at full speed :)

Looks like defensive flying course is in order :)
