How the hell do you find the right depot to dock the buggy to get back on your ship?

As per the title.

None of the bays are numbered for the pads and the compass thingy does not relate to anything.

This is very frustrating. Am I missing something?

From what I remember from their stream, I think you had to request docking with the starport while in the SRV and it would then point you towards your hangar bay on the little compass. Might help.

Yes, I have done that but the compass does not lead you to a hanger/buggy docking bay.

I nearly posted this last night too after ten mins of driving around. There a guide thread somewhere with loads of tips on it. Pretty sure it said request docking permission with the star port while you are driving around and then a yellow marker will appear next to your 'garage'?

Found it https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=205118&highlight=Horizons+guide

Here's a clip from the livestream, at the point where they show you how to find the ship.

Compass points you at your bay but its in two dimensions so if you go onto a Pad and its in the Hanger you can get confused as it is below you
.
I do a couple of things
.
Request Docking permission and then lock onto your ship from contacts - its easier to follow the ship marker and compass than just the compass alone to find your pad
.
Check other pads they are number sensibly if you can see pad 1 and pad 3 numbered and you want pad 4 it isn't between 1 and 3!
.
Find the correct pad - use your compass- then you should find an entrance and an exit ramp Don't go up the ramp, look around the entrance ramp and you should see a small Garage - drive in and look for the "board ship" light

I assumed the ship just acted "dismissed" and needed to be "recalled". I just had to cruise out of the "no park zone" of the base and recall is as normal.

I looked at it like "it would be super selfish of me to hog up a landing pad like that- especially when I'm not even there"
