PvP How to avoid murder hobbos - Part 1

Murder hobos suck! There, I said it. But it's also so much fun to be a murder hobo. Truth!

In the spirit that you don't need to publish videos on how to be a MH, I'll post one on how to avoid them, in a very specific circumstance.

What you see in the video is real; it wasn't staged.

Not a Cutter, but an Exploration Anaconda. Same principle I suppose, plus I could not boost and had very weak shields.

Step Two: die of boredom.

But seriously do whatever you want it's a free galaxy. I could never go back to solo the game becomes so dull. Open adrenaline is a whole different game.

I can understand Explorers staying in solo but other players should just learn some basic game skills. Or stay in solo lol.

To some, there is no "Open adrenaline". You seem to enjoy it, and that's cool. Others, myself included, don't feel like dealing with other players who want me to be their 'game content'.

And telling others to "learn some basic game skills" so they can play 'your' definition of the game is actually quite arrogant on your part. LOL...

I for one have the so-called skills to evade/run in Open. I choose not to as it is boring, tiresome nonsense I choose not to deal with. Open, and certain participants thereof, are simply not relevant to how I want to enjoy this game. Simple as that.

Mobius PvE suits me just fine, thanks. :)

One potential problem ; going in at full speed you're vulnerable to someone suicide ramming you in a Sidewinder to make the station kill you. May not be easy to hit you in a Vulture, but my Conda is a much bigger target.

Wow, that's an excellent way to get yourself killed by ramming suicide ganker inside the station! Especially if you are in a big ship.

Rep for attitude. Open is a challenging rewarding experience. Learning new skills in life is fundamental. Evolve.
Open is a friendly place, once you learned the rules.

I can't seem to find the part which explains why the murder-hobo doesn't interdict you while you're faffing around in SC.

Step 0.5 that nobody ever remembers: Look at the scanner and emergency drop from supercruise before even being interdicted in the first place.

Step 0.6: After dropping, move away from the place you are, just in case they decide to follow your wake (extremely rare). If they do, you'll be out of weapon range and your FSD will be charged and ready when they arrive.

Step 0.7: Wait a little before going back to supercruise (or high wake to another system, if you think the heat is too high). It's boring, but bear in mind it's even more boring for them, so it's worth it :D. Most likely they go after some other random dude and the coast will be clear. Anyway, when going back to supercruise, remember to re-enter supercruise in a different direction, otherwise if they are there waiting for you to pop back up, you'll pop right with them in your rear, and you'll be interdicted immediately. Re-entering supercruise in a different direction (ideally more than 90º from original direction) means that if they're waiting, they will have to move around you again, giving you time to go back to step 0.5 if necessary.

When you're a murder hobo and you've run everyone out of the sandbox, you're left there with your murdering ways and no one to play with. Then you try to coax others back into the sandbox by telling them how easy it is to avoid being harassed by you when in reality the solution lies with you.

Can you show us this video again, using a trader cutter?

I would say that if you play with a trader Cutter you should have spent enough money and resources so your shields are strong enough to get you safely through the slot. If you didn´t or they can´t keep you alive long enough, that´s your bad outfitting.

Everyone appreciates that you don´t like to face this sort of gameplay, so Mobius or other PG are available for you. But many players enjoy the increased adrenaline of being attacked in open by other players.

I don´t call being attacked by a murdering hobbo "Harassment". I call it "Good, I was bored already!".

Step One: play in Mobius Group.

There are no more steps, all done!

And have a mediocre gaming experience. I actually used to be a mobian but found open to be a ton more exciting. NPCs just are too easy and provide little entertainment. Murder hobos are actually rarer than Thargoid hyperdictions. In over a year of playing in open Iv met maybe 3, two I escaped from and one died.

Of course this is a personal opinion and not an attack against PvE players. I'm just saying flying in a dangerous environment and occasionally tangling with someone with a brain can be tons of fun.
