Newcomer / Intro How to be successfull with delivery quests ?

Hi there, i'm actually in a system with industrial and agricultural stations also, so good to trade here. But i fail really in the "get us food" or "get us metal" or something-quests.
Coffee is easy since its there in most of the time, but things like non-lethal-weapons or copper i had to fail severl missions now.
My question is: does it make sense to write down all things all stations selling in this system to have a better plan what missions to take and which not ?
Or is there another way to know what goods are available in a system at present ?

Thanks for the videolink, didn't knew the colour-thing.

But i'm in one system for now, trading between stations. I saw the general info in the system map already, which is surely helpful but it does not say if a certain good actually is available or not. Like if i need 2 copper for a mission now, where can i see if any of the stations in my actual systems have them ?

No, in Galaxy View you can't see that. Those delivery Quests (like your example with copper) are hardly ever on the same System. On the System Map you can see what Type of Stations you have in your System. If you have to bring copper you probably need a refinery station.

The most common trading in a System is food (buy in agriculture Staion, sell everywhere else). Everything else is very very often located in other Systems, and so you have to get out. ;)

I only accept these missions if I know where to get the goods. How do I know where to get the goods? I am using ArchV1's excellent Cmdr's log

I saw this tool before but making screenshots and all that and having running a tool for it is a bit much for me, guess i return to the method of 1984..pen and paper, thx all :)

Totally agree with KillaALF.

I make notes on paper, especially when it's a station selling something I don't see pretty much anywhere else. And I don't take a grocery run mission unless I a) know where to buy it and b) if it's actually more profitable to do than whatever trade route I'm currently running.
