how to buy the final version ?

My brother used to play a lot elite, and now i would like him to give this new version. If i had a job i would simply back on that fund raising website, but i dont have a job so i cannt spend as much as i would like to, since this game looks real nice.

I wonder how will it eventually be sold ?, will it then be the full product?
Or do you keep a right to download addons later, i am not really a gamer.
When i give him this present i must not be a half present.

Will it be sold online as a download ?..
Or do i need to pay at kickstarter now ?

It will also be sold online after. This will be the basic version. Then there will be updates paying or not. Kickstarter is finished. But you can become donors directly on this site. Backer or not, you will have the game of course.

Firstly welcome to the forum. Like Patrick_68000 said, the game will be available as a download following the official release. I don't have any info on how much this version will cost or how it will be distributed.

At present (using Pay Pal), £30 is the minimum amount you can get the game for as soon as it comes out, but this will not include further add-ons that are to come like planetary landings. Such add-ons would have to be bought separately later on. However, you can get the Digital Download Pack. This includes all future expansions for the game and costs £80 at present.

Although it is possible to gift a copy for £25 :)

Clicked on the PayPal, link and can see both the pledge buttons and the donate button. However looking at the donate side it doesn't say anything about getting the game for £30 or getting the game and future releases for £80, these options are all on the pledge side, which I understood was closed. :S If you can get these options on the donate side, how do they know that is what you are after. TIA

All the pledge levels listed are available. There are some pledge levels that were available during the Kickstarter that are now closed, but they are not listed.

And thanks to Gimi, for making that clear too me, as I wouldn't want to send the money in the wrong direction. Hence :S i've got a mate who will probably want to get this as well, but not sure what level he will want to get in at.

And Zuikaku, assuming you are already a backer, you can upgrade your pledge via the Web App Frontier sent you. As to how long this will last for, I suggest you send an email via the Web App via the "Contact" link at the top of the page. Frontier have not indicated on the Forum the cut off date as yet. Hope that helps you. :)

I know this will sound like a stupid question, however just to clarify things for myself and anybody else who's not sure. I take it that what ever level of pledge you buy, you get that pledge and every pledge below it, if applicable. Just like the kickstarter options. TIA.

IMHO I would of thought ED would be sold on steam

I would like a to see a boxed retail edition and an option to buy the addons (on disc, probably via mail) up front

?

oc, there is direct download/gog/steam.. but a retail edition for 'off-liners' would be a good idea
