How to celebrate those who have become Elite?

As for those wanting to tell everyone about them becoming "Elite" (however they achieve it) vs those who want to keep it secret - just have the player choose what they want to do (tell everyone or not) when they reach "Elite".

Don't agree with you - anyone who attains the rating of Elite in any of the 4 disciplines is Elite in my book. If you achieve that but still feel inferior that is your problem - the fact that there are 4 routes to the same doesn't mean that "true" Elites have them all, it simply means they play too much

Yes - regardless of the discipline that you reach Elite in - it will still be a very hard won accomplishment.

Agreed. As I always say, achievements are what you make them. If you feel that only "true" Elites have them all, then get them all and relish in your achievement. Being able to be labelled Elite after being good at only one discipline doesn't change the difficulty of getting Elite in all of them.

Well, I am going to play the game to enjoy it. If by playing the game, I move up the ratings to the point I reach the top in anything, then great, but I won't be playing to do that, just to enjoy playing it.

If I ever get to elite, I'd like to higher a bunch of accompany scout ships fitted with subspace, sub woofers and twitters, to broadcast my theme tune every time I entered a system.

Nah just kidding. In truth since I'm unlikely to play for more than a few hours when I can, its likely never going to happen. But I'm ok with that, the grind of trying to get to Elite status, might in the process just take all the fun out of it. More like work, and less like play.
