How to change a system's Allegiance?

Hey,

I was lucky enough to be able to back ED to a level which allowed me to name both a station and planet. As soon as I was able I searched for them and was happy to find my station in orbit of my planet, however I was crushed to find that both of them where deep into Empire space :(

After making the trek out to the system and docking at my station I noticed that there are 3 other minor factions in operation in the system, the Empire have by far and away the largest amount of influence (54%) with the rest split between the 3 other minor factions, the highest being at 22%.

My question is, if I do missions for no other faction within the system other than the one which currently holds 22%, is there a realistic chance that I can increase their influence to the point where they become the dominant faction and wrestle control of the system from the diabolical Empire's clutches!?

Also the name of the system containing my planet and station is the rather uninspiring CD-XX XXXX catalogue number, is there any chance that once control of the system is swapped that the system name will change?

Cheers

Brodie

Yes. Doing missions and trading helps. Only do the missions that raise influence, though (e.g. don't do import slaves missions, or the USS fetch missions). It'd be good to organize some help, though. And to remove the name of the system from your post, so noone knows where it is, so no counter measurements can be taken.

No. Not likely. I am not aware of any flipped systems as of now, however.

Pick one of the factions and start doing jobs for them only. You can also do jobs for other factions, and not complete them - wait for USS offers to sabotage / change the faction, you may find some of them end up favouring your faction.

Do enough, and you can get the faction into CIVIL WAR, which is how allegiances of stations can flip.

I don't think the systems name can change.

I hope that FD do enable planets to change names though...at least from default generated ones to named. There's too many high-population eerth-like worlds with stupid names like "HD 127872 A 02B"

A lot of people are working in different systems trying to do just this. Do missions and trade if the faction you want in control has a station to increase their influence. Don't think anyone has flipped a system yet although the lugh people seem close.

Not sure if i'm doing something wrong here, but i've been grinding missions like crazy for one of the non empire aligned factions and they influence in the system has not budged at all from 22%.
I'm starting to think that this is not realistically possible for one player.

As a prevous post said, only do missions that increase rep. Do missions like bring medical supplies or food or weapons, don't do stuff for money.

When you get the majority percentage, then you can start trading commodities big time as this brings in cash for the station owners and increases influence for them.

I noticed that the station ive named has "glory to the empire" or something similar near its entrance, and the Empire logo around its circumference, i presume these will vanish if i ever manage to wrest control of tbe system out of empire hands? Or will the station still maintain Empire alignment?
