I have been puzzled by this since the latest changes to BGS.
I have faction that is in BOOM, they have been in BOOM for quite some time, and how do you negatively affect this status?
Same with security status, how do you lower this?
Security is sort obvious, as long as the faction owns a station/base, then killing ships here will lower their security status. But if they do not own a station?
I have been trying to look at what actions we can and judge the likely hood to affect these settings, and sofar, most of the old stuff regarding BGS does not appears to give any direct changes to these statuses, except clean killing ships in their controlled space.
So we have taken over a system, and the loosing faction is getting run down and despite loosing wars, they are still happy, in Boom and high security status, that is now recovering from the massacre of clean ships we did to lower their influence to push them into the war over the control of the system. And it seems that due to their positive statuses, they bounce back very fast, time after time.
I know it could be other player doing stuff, but in that case, the "minimal" effort with by how we win the wars, suggests that there are no other players pushing the other faction.
Also by just looking around the galaxy map, all the positive statuses seems to be in huge majority, over the negative statuses, So trying to find Outbreak and Famine systems have become alot harder, and I do think this is connected with the absent of ways to actually lower some factions statutes, we appears to most be able to influence it in a positive way.
I had lots of questions when FDev showed of the new BGS, and now when we have lived with it for over a month, I have even more questions about how it is supposed to work.
