How to change Ingame Name?

I noticed players with all kinda of ingame names. However can't figure out where to change mine if that is even possible. Being a Backer#(numbers in the 7k) isn't exactly a appealing way of being identified. So is there a way to change that, or is that static until something more permanent comes along?
