How to change sex?

I forgot to change from female to male when playing beta and gamma. Now I'm stuck.. I did not find any option for this. Does anybody know?

Go to graphics options before you select your game mode and pick pilot gender.

I saw that option in the general settings, don't know if you can change an active character or have to clean save though.

IIRC you can change as long as you haven't loaded your save-game yet (I.e.: Just loaded Elite Dangerous and you are in the game main menu)-
Before you click on Start game go to where you can change and you'll be able to change.

Don't need to restart a new commander.

As well as looking down and seeing the difference - you also get different breathing when the cockpit glass gets smashed out.
