Newcomer / Intro How to Determine Jump Distance

Guys,

I was on a trading trip and received a message something like "Limited fuel jump distance too great" when I tried one of my jumps so I had to return. My question is, how can you tell if there is going to be one of these situations when reviewing your route? How can you tell the jump distance between two stars in the map?

Thanks!

The problem here I think was plotting course without cargo, then setting off on trip with full cargo bay.
The Galaxy map does have a setting to allow for cargo before buying it.

I hope this helps.

Did you set the route before filling up with cargo? That can cause problems as the calculated route will not take the added cargo mass into account so could make the jump undoable.

Ninja'd :)

When you are plotting your route.....Dashed lines indicate, that portion of you route you do not have fuel for, what I do is to do a refuel stop, at some point along the way

Just a point of view CMDRS.. When plotting a route if its out of my jump range using direct mode, I then go for economy mode, it just takes a few more SC.. However, I tend to stick within a single jump range on trading. "Are you planning you route on a bigger range than a single jump ????. thanks for reading
