How to disable camera shake?

I purchased the game a few days ago, it's fantastic!

Unfortunately, the camera shake feature spoils my enjoyment of playing it.

I had a look into the options menu, but couldn't find any switch or slider to turn it off.

Did I overlook anything?

Nope, you didn't!

This goes into the wishing well category i think...

Be advised it's really bad in the T6-T7 ships...

What exactly are we talking about here? The fact that the cockpit moves when entering hyperspace or something else?

I think turning off flight assist might help or not....depends on the pilot.
Another option is to change your field of view.

The really bad shaking effect when slowing down or speeding up. Not in SC, although it can shake a little when traveling at 6m on approach to destination.

Really don't get why there isn't an option to turn it off. It does not really affect me, but an option to turn it off wouldn't hurt me either.

Options are always good.

Only way that I know to get rid of it, is a head tracking (TrackIR type or Oculius Rift)

I don't like how the cockpit HUD moves to me and away from me when a start or stop suddenly. It wouldn't bother me if it would recover, but I have to his ESC and then resume to correct it. Else I'm zoomed in to my radar. Had to pick my teeth out of the windshield a couple of times.

Maybe I blind then, never noticed cockpit shaking with TrackIR

The shaking is less in smaller faster ships, but in my experience the T6-T7 are really bad maybe because they are so much slower and takes longer to speed up/slowdown that the shaking lasts longer. It sucks in those ships..I'm glad to be out of them..

FD want it there for 'realism', as with things like the head bob, and losing sight of part of your scanner when pulling high Gs. If there was an option to turn it off, then everyone who thinks the game would be easier without those things (which will be close to everyone) would turn them off. So there is no real point in an option, they might as well take it out.

That's all fine and dandy but they can limit the shaking as it causes eye fatigue/motion sickness for some players.

I have TrackIR and it shakes the same.

I do like the shake, I agree it adds to the realism. But with the current stutter problems it makes everything worse.

I have TrackIR too, and never noticed the shaking (but noticed it very well without TrackIR) probably I just compensating it with my head movement which is very natural.

There is indeed an (quite expensive) option: The Rift.

The shaking makes me feel sick. I would rather have the oxygen deprivation simulated by getting choked.

I think the problem won't fix.

Instead of having a clean HUD, it shakes and moves out of the screen frequently. I think it's really bad design when inflight, you often cannot read your instruments. A graduate who had a semester in ergonomics / user interface could do better.

If you are referring to the head movement fore and back when decelerating and accelerating and the up/down in manoeuvres then I suppose they are trying to simulate "g effects" - however since you are strapped into a vehicle which to my mind has some sort of inertial damper built in (else you would be squished!) then it seems to me that the head movement is utter nonsense.

If you are referring to the vibrations caused by the thrusters through the structure, then that's OK for realism and it is much more noticeable in some ships compared to others.
