I'm getting spammed by like 30 emails a day due to updated threads that somehow I'm automatically subscribed to for posting in them. I can neither find a way to stop auto-subscribing nor disabling notifications. Is there a way to do one or both and if so, where do I find it? Thanks.

Yeah, I tried that and it had no effect. It refused to accept my changes. That's why I asked. But this time it did take them. Thanks.
