Newcomer / Intro How to disable UI Panel

Not sure if this is the right section to make this and I've tried searching for answers to my query.

Is there a way, to disable the UI panel when using Free-Look? Like for example, I use Free-Look to look around the cockpit and down below, trying to spot some weapons fire in the distance but once I look to the left and to the right, UI panel for Target and Systems pop up respectively.

In essence, I'd like for them to only be enable if I press the appropriate button and not by looking at them, if I made any sense.

Thanks for the assistance in advance!

Not that I know of, but it'd be useful. It's somewhat annoying flying by an object and looking at it from the side, only for a panel to pop up and block your view.

There is a way to do that in the options. Hit pause, and you will get the pause menu with the options, go through the three options menus and there will be a setting to have them not come up automatically somewhere in there.

Tried looking for that under controls but I couldn't find anything. Do you know the exact name of the control? I may have missed it.

I've never seen the option you're talking about, but as this is the Newcomer's forum I think it's important to correct this right now.

THERE IS NO PAUSE

The game does not ever pause, there is no pause menu, and there is no key you can press in order to pause it.

In case that isn't clear enough, I'll repeat it a bit louder:

THERE
IS
NO
PAUSE

There is a work around, i have a button assigned to ui focus hold ( i think, not at my game pc) and it disables the ui's while you are holding down the button so you can look around without them. This is on the rift, but i imagine it would work with a monitor too

Go to Options - Graphics and scroll down to the "Disable UI Camera Lock-On" option and set it to ON.

I found that the UI panel would pop up when I was using TrackIR.

I'm not using TrackIR and have only one monitor screen so this is not a suitable method. If I enable this option and open a side panel my view remains looking forward and I cannot see the panel without going into Headlook.

I shall try this later when next in-game.

Yeah it does say in the option summary that it is designed to be used with a TrackIR or Occulus, so I guess that wont work for you.

actually... no just kidding. THERE IS NO PAUSE... however there is a puse nenu which brings you to the exact same menu you get when you press Esc... but IT DOES NOT PAUSE!

I'm still not clear....Is there a pause?
not sure if you're trolling but since this is the newbie area: No, there is no pause. Even when you log out the celestial objects will continue to move and - if you've logged out in an asteroid field - eventually destroy your ship. Same applies for any other menu in the game. Thats why it's recommended to dock before you log out or move out of the way of any orbit. in case you're too far out in the uninhabited systems.

Weird cause there's an control setting called PAUSE in keybindings. They should probably rename it.

It's P by default.

Also, still can't disable the UI turn D:

sorry to sorta necro, but this needs to be reconsidered, with horizons beta now here, its now apparent this disable of the UI panels on a hot key toggle is really needed. Its really annoying when landing and the new srv panel does not need to be there all the time, so toggle all menus will be great
