How to do the mission kill terrorist leader?

Hello everybody,

it seems to me to be an interesting mission in principle, same money like the kill the pirate lord - which is quite easy.

That terrorist leader one is just crazy if you do not get the destination by a another target or from the nav beacon and you have to gather the information from a data point in a +++high security station! In fact you will shot down from all sides, including plasma, beam and rail shots from Vipers & Eagles hunting you. Not to mention the sentry skimmers and the turrets ...

I have no idea how to reach the data point and to stay alive till the scanner finish the transfer.

Has anyone survived that mission and is able to give a guidance?

I have done it 2 ways 1 is to find the point around the perimeter which is closest to the scan point then go as fast as possible scan it then get killed and respawn in your ship.

This works on the medium bases and is probably the easiest.

For the +++ high sec I buy an eagle and fit it with the best thrusters, shields and SRV bay I can and land it next to the scan point deploy and immediately dismiss it then scan then get killed and re spawn.

I use a eagle for 2 reasons:

1. if/when it gets blown up the rebuy doesn't matter

2. it's the most manoeuvrable ship in the game (unengineered) so is most likely to get you there before being blown to pieces.

Ultimately these should be the very best missions in the game (linked events with some kind of context adding a level of depth to them). But it's bee completely ruined by the fact Fdev added ships to planetary bases meaning it's impossible to do by yourself and highly risky to help someone out doing it especially as rewards aren't shared (in live anyway)

Yes.

Here's how I do it.

First I park my ship as close as possible, but out of sight of the base defenses (line of sight), like in a small crater, making sure I have lined up the rear of my ship with the beacon I have to scan. I deploy the SRV and drive as fast as possible straight at the datapoint, I get the trespass, all hell starts to break loose at about the time that I am pressing the fire button to use the scanner, so at this point, I make sure I am in a corner somewhere, with as many walls next to me as possible to avoid the incoming fire. Obviously I put all pips to shields as well. I then make a crazy dash back to the ship, zigzagging to avoid security with railguns and turrets, I get into my ship, I'm out of sight, so safe for the time being (the one authority ship isn't much of a threat to my mothership, at least not for the first 30 seconds), so I take off and boost boost boost out of range and into SC.

If you get killed in the SRV (as has happened to me plenty of times) just be ready to respawn in your ship and take off immediately.

So that's the main thing out of the way. Do you know what you are likely to face once you get to the actual terrorist leader? I don't know which is harder, the build up or the actual assassination itself. If the mission pays north of 2m, it will definitely be a deadly anaconda or higher, sometimes even elite corvettes with fighters. The 'trrorists' are better equipped than pirates, about the same as CZ ships, and they usually have up to a 2 to 4 ship escort of the usual suspects, Vultures, VM4s, Eagles, etc. It's a hell of a fight.

I don't do these anymore, because the risk is simply not worth the reward.

Yes, according my combat rank, mostly Elite or Deadly terrorists appear in at least the Anaconda or Corvette.

For the effort it's better to do every mission else because in that time you can kill several pirate lords or you can do other missions like salvage or planetary scans or transport.

I still miss the diversity of the missions and hoped that could be a good one. But unfortunately I imagine the one created it never played it. Like most of the players I assume. :(

Hopefully in Update 3.0 we will get some more diversity.
