Newcomer / Intro How to efficiently find warzones?

Coming back from school induced hiatus:

I am interested in doing lots of combat; however, Nav Beacons no longer seem how they were in Beta. How can I find warzones or conflict zones?

Check bulletin boards, but yeah, this does mean travelling around to find mention of a war...I've resorted to having an agreement with my ED playing friends to email me when new ones arise and old ones disappear. A new one sprung up in Khronos last night, and I've noticed an abundance of them in the neighbouring systems of kokojina at the moment (for what it's worth). On the down side, I've also found a few war missions to zones that are not there...of you could just fly to Lave - I love the irony that the start-out system from the old game, which everyone couldn't wait to get away from, is now the new hub for player pirates and pvp baddies ;)
