Engineers How to figure out if it's worth it?

Cliffson did these two excellent threads that allow you to work out the effect on manoeuvrability / speed of any thrusters, he updated the first page with info about 2.1 thrusters, and the second page should still be correct.

Thrusters explained in one simple table (Rating and Mass)

Pitch Roll and Acceleration for (nearly) Every ship.

You can use edshipyard or coriolis.io to see exactly how much power you can spare (on an unmodded ship anyway) and what you'd maybe need to power off or lose if you get a bad RNG roll.

Heat I'm not sure about, but I can see that class 5 dirty drive thrusters will make my racing ships run very, very hot!

I found Cliffson's post like two days ago. It should be pinned somewhere. Good idea on the power thing calculation. I usually don't write down numbers, but it might help. I'm totally a bar length person where size matters...
