Newcomer / Intro How to find a RES in galaxy map?

Greetings!
I'm in the process of looking for a new area to inhabit and was wondering if there's a guaranteed way of finding a system with a RES from within the galaxy map?
Is it just a case of a system needing to be inhabited and also having a planet with rings, or is that no guarantee?

I think an inhabited system with metallic or metal-rich rings is always a sure guess for a RES.

Extraction or refinery are good indicators, but they can happen anywhere

RESes are usually in the rings of a planet, so look for systems with ringed gas giants. Some rocky planets have rings too, but IME, it's almost always the giants where the RESes are.

Not necessarily. I don't mind company. I'm just after a nice area to increase some local FED rep. I'm after some systems with a RES or 2, a nearby Hi-Tech, somewhere to pick up illicit goods etc. I've gone as far as Rotanev and it seems like a suitable neighbourhood! Will be popping over to Medj He later to borrow a cup of sugar.
