Newcomer / Intro How to Find Combat Zones

So I started playing a month or two ago. I was doing pure trading from Sidewinder to Adder to Type 6, but at 13 million I just couldn't take it anymore. The road to Type 7 is so long and I'm getting bored of rare trading all the time (I couldn't find anything in normal trading that made money faster... and I was only making about 800k per hour on my route). I traveled around and found a station that sells Vulture and bought a few small upgrades (that extra couple million went so fast!).

So now I have a combat ship but I'm having trouble finding a steady stream of combat. I can travel my normal trade route and get interdicted to fight pirates, but I was hoping for something more steady. I remember seeing High and Low Intensity combat zones in my travels before, but I have no idea how to actively seek one. Is there a method to finding them or do you just have to aimlessly explore until you stumble upon one? I found this thread highlighting systems with combat zones but the two closest to me that I checked, I couldn't find the combat zones. I am currently in Buricasses and I can't find anything besides a Nav Signal which doesn't really have anything going on inside. This location interested me the most because the thread I linked said it was good for grinding Empire rep and that Imperial Clipper looks really cool.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Find a RES = Resource Extraction Site (in the rings around Gas Giants) as these areas have high bounty targets and plenty of 'em!

I had folks suggest that to me many times, and I didn't even try out the RESs until a couple of days ago. Wish I had listened sooner, because RESs are a gold mine for bounty hunters! Just in a couple of days, I've made millions.

This x1000 - I was exactly the same, made 400K in my first trip to a RES.

Combat is the way to go man! Yeap looking out for RES is the best way to find wanted ships! I also find taking bounties (from the bulletin board) plus going bounty hunting can get you more credits :)

RES is great .Use a KWS as well ,I have another 500k from alliance and imperial after making a couple of mill in fed bounties

to OP
For warzones I usurely read the Galnet News as a guide. The biggest credits is to be made fighting in a conflict zone that is part of a community goal...
The individual ship doesn't pay as much as in RES' but there are much more ships to shoot at an you'll never run out of them and the very best part(for me at least) is that after the goal is compleated I recieve an additional 10-20 mio credits(bonus for finishing in one of the 3 upper categories listed....) besides the credits I've earned turning in combat bonds as part of the community goal at the station where you sign on for the community goal mission.
